East 724-9734
South 724-4895
West 724-9757
How long does intake last?
You should allow for 2 to 3 hours to complete the paperwork and begin the initial testing.
When do I start classes?
Your classes will start after you complete your intake appointment. We have several intakes a month, but they do fill up fast, so the sooner you see us, the sooner you can get started.
Do I need to bring anything?
You must bring a current valid picture ID issued by Arizona to your intake session. If you do not have a valid AZ ID, discuss this with the staff.
How much does it cost?
Our classes are free. The GED® test is split into four sections that are $35 each. The sections are Reading & Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Social Studies, and Science. Arizona also has a Civics requirement that costs an additional $9.
How will I know what I need to study?
At your intake appointment, you will take a pre-test. This test has nothing to do with being accepted into the program! It is just a test to see what you know and what you need help with. We use the results of this test to create a program of study for you. As you take classes you will take progress tests occasionally to update your study program.
How long will I have to wait before I take the GED® test?
Each student’s situation is unique. Some students will be ready to test right away, and others may take months or even years. The best thing you can do is attend class on a regular basis. Keep in mind that you do not have to take all four tests at once. If you are ready to test in any one subject, you may take that test and get it over with, and then focus on the next subject you would like to pass. Your teachers will work with you and give you a referral to GED® when they believe you are sufficiently prepared to pass the test.
